We offer a range of immunisations to safeguard your health and well-being. Vaccinations are a simple yet powerful way to protect yourself and those around you from serious illnesses.

Influenza (flu) vaccine
Who should get vaccinated?
Available for everyone over 6 months of age.
Fully funded for those over 65, pregnant women, and individuals with specific medical conditions (contact us to confirm eligibility).
Why it’s important:
Influenza can cause more severe illness than the common cold.
Protects you and helps reduce the spread of flu in the community.
Provides additional protection for older adults and pregnant women, benefiting both hapū māma and pēpē during early life.
Annual immunisations are recommended, as the flu virus evolves each year.
Availability:
The unfunded vaccine costs $45 and is available now.
Funded vaccines will be available from 1 April 2024.
Covid-19 vaccine
Eligibility:
Funded for everyone aged 30 and over.
Funded for people aged 16–29 who are pregnant or at higher risk of severe illness.
Funded for individuals aged 12+ with specific medical conditions or severe immunocompromise.
Why it’s important:
Protects against the latest COVID-19 variants.
Reduces the risk of severe illness, particularly for those at higher risk.
Recommended if it’s been at least six months since your last vaccine or COVID-19 infection.
Whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine
Who should get vaccinated?
Fully funded for pregnant women from 16 weeks onwards to protect both mother and baby.
Recommended for immediate family members (partners, grandparents) but not funded.
Why it’s important:
Prevents severe illness in newborns, who are too young to be vaccinated.
Shingles vaccine
Who should get vaccinated?
Recommended for all adults aged 50 and over.
Funded for one year when you turn 65.
Why it’s important:
Protects against shingles, a painful rash caused by the chickenpox virus.
Reduces the risk of complications, including long-term nerve pain.
Availability:
Unfunded vaccines cost $325 each, with two doses needed two months apart (plus a $25 nurse consultation fee).
